Welcome to my practice. I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults.
I have a particular skill in helping people work through difficult "knots" in their lives where they feel stuck in unwanted patterns. This may be a repetitive experience in relationships, a way of feeling blocked in work or your aspirations, or a characteristic way of feeling about yourself that limits your potential. Psychotherapy can bring things to light that expand options and the range possibilities to effectively approach life's challenges.
I approach each client on individual terms. What draws me to my work is a desire to understand the roots of my clients’ difficulties within the particular context of their lives, including their life experiences and the personal meaning they bring to their experiences. I have found that exploring client's problems in these broader contexts builds self-awareness that can lead to significant improvements in the problems that are brought into therapy and can have further-reaching effects in other areas of life as well. I hope to help my clients come more fully into their own selves.
I have a special interest in working with clients around issues related to identity, such as multiracial identity or other identities that don't fit neatly into prescribed categories.
I invite you to contact me to schedule a free 20 minute phone consultation to talk about what you are looking for in therapy to help us determine if we are a good fit.
